back on track – again.

This morning was easy to get back on track. Though I gained 2.2 lbs this week, I fit into a pair of pants that I have not been able to wear for the past year- that is an accomplishment!

Good day to relax – I deserved it!

I figured I had gained at least 3lbs because of this weekend but at my weigh in this morning, I lost another 3.6!! So far, I have lost a total of 9.2!!!!!!! :-)

I spent the day relaxing at home – I had a great day off from work. The weather is great, and I caught up on my reading and TV shows (I love TiVo!). Not much to chat about right now – just my food diary…

Weekend = Oy!

Well, my fears were confirmed this weekend – I ate ALOT on my trip away. I won’t post everything, as it would take me 2 hours to type it all in, but I want to post my victories and pitfalls.

Victories:

1. I wrote everything that I put in my mouth down. That is not only a victory, that is a historic moment for me. Usually when I overeat, I think “well, that is it. I ate a ton, so now I will keep going.” Every meal, I would find an excuse to go write down the things I ate in private (I went with work people and I am still not openly discussing my plans to lose weight). I did not bring my food guides, so I didn’t count points right then, but I did keep track of what I ate. More on what the point value was later.

2. I weighed myself when I got home. Some would think that was counter-productive, but actually, it helped me realize that my over the top eating was not ruining everything I had worked for the last few weeks. I gained 2 lbs. At least I didn’t gain 6lbs! :-) “Real” weigh in is tomorrow, so we shall see.

3. I came home (To a clean-ish house, thank you very much!) and immediatly made my lunch for today. I realized I had to get right back on plan.

4. I ate TONS of veggies and fruits, many more than I would have if I would not have been away. I let myself have fun, and really “Vacationed”. That is diffcult for me to do sometimes.

5. (see #3 of the Pitfalls before you read this victory) I ate about 1/3 of what I would have had I not been on WW. Though I ate ALOT, I ate actually very healthy 95% of the time. It is not like I sat and ate a birthday cake, or ate tons anything. I just ate bits of carbs and salty things, my downfall. Actually, the only “sugary” item I ate this weekend was 1 smore. Yep, only one. GO ME!  :-)

Pitfalls:

1. Chips. and dip. ALOT of Chips and dip. I really love them. 50 pts alone came from doritos, ruffles and ranch dip. OUCH. Could I have doen without them? Of course. Did I? well, obviously not….

2. I was with friends that do not watch what they eat. They by full-fat everything, which I am now not used to eating. I need to remember to just put my foot down and get low-fat and fat-free things.

3. I alloted myself 74pts this weekend – my leftovers from Friday(dinner)+22 flex+26 Sat and 25 Sun. I added up the points I ate (give or take) and I ate 121 for the weekend. EEK! OUCH! WOW!

All in all, I had a blast with my friends and I ate too much. I have learned from my momentary lapse (and my stomach still hurts!!) and this was a gret learning opportunity early in the game.
