Here are the top 5 websites I catch up on daily. While I read a TON (I have over 200 sites in my Reader), these are my “go-to” sites that I read every time they are updated and never skip. I hope they become your favorites!

  • www.icanhascheezburger.com – most days, I need a laugh, and if you like animals that “talk”, you will love this photo site. I usually laugh out loud at least once a day when visiting this site.
  • www.ronisweigh.com – Roni always has great commentary on her life, losing weight and how she is keeping off 70lbs. She also has a great companion site www.greenlightbites.com.
  • www.moneysavingmom.com – I am cheap, so MSM is a great way for me to learn about the “deals” and freebies at local and national stores. I don’t go shopping without first checking her site. She compiles ALL the best deals.
  • www.duwaxloolu.blogspot.com – Jess is such a great writer- she first pulled me in with her posts on What it’s like to be fat (and the other – what’s it’s like to be less fat). It was like I was reading a post about myself. I tune in everytime she posts to catch up on how she is doing and for her great insights.
  • www.thepioneerwoman.com – This lady just rocks. Cooking tutorials, out-of-this-world photos, photoshop tutorials, AMAZING GIVEAWAYS, and beautiful writings about her family and her amazing ranch. What’s not to love?

Sum it Up Saturday- Happy 4th!

This week was fun and (work-wise) short.

Monday- Wednesday were spent at work during the day getting things done. BO-ring.

Tuesday night I went to see The Hangover which was one of the funniest movies I have seen in years. If you like stupid frat boy humor, this is the movie for you. :-)

Thursday was spent hanging out at home, cleaning up the kitchen, running errands, a few loads of laundry, and grocery shopping. Friday was about the same, except I went to a great backyard 4th of July party at a friend’s house. It was great, though the bugs thought I was candy or something – my ankles are swollen with bug bites.

Today I picked up the custom framed copy of my first “thing” from work (sorry, trying to stay anonymous) and it looks amazing. I am so proud of the work I did on the “thing” and so happy that I will always have it framed to look at and remember my accomplishment!

4th of July is actually my favorite holiday – my last place was decorated all in Americana. I still have a ton of it, but decided to go a different direction this place and only decorate for the holiday when it IS the holiday. :-)

I am not sure if I will got to see fireworks today though- just watched the news and they showed the park where I would have to go—I am not too keen on big crowds and there is a HUGE crowd. Since it is not too far from my house, I might just walk to where I might be able to see them and set up a chair or a blanket.

Or I might just chill in the AC and watch them online.

THIS is the time when a guy in my life would be a good thing. I HATE going to things like this by myself.

Food Friday

Well, this week it was actually Food Thursday, but I will share my list for the week.

Below are the meals for the week:

  • Spaghetti and meat sauce, salad
  • Spaghetti and ricotta, salad
  • Egg Salad open faced sandwich, tortilla chips, diet soda
  • Tuna salad open face sandwich, tortilla chips
  • Grilled chicken, frozen veggies, brown rice
  • BBQ chicken, frozen veggies
  • Cheerios, chobani yogurt, fruit
  • eggs, turkey bacon, toast
  • snacks- fruit, carrots, yogurt, grapes

grocery list:

  • 1lb hamburger
  • spaghetti sauce (B1G1)
  • ricotta cheese
  • angel hair pasta
  • bread (forgot to get!)
  • 4 chobani yogurts
  • cheerios
  • turkey bacon
  • romaine lettuce
  • cucumbers
  • carrots
  • peaches
  • blueberries
  • blackberries
  • grapes
  • milk
  • Grape Nuts (B1G1)

Peaches, ground beef, spaghetti sauce, Cheerio’s, blueberries, blackberries, grapes were all on sale.

So far, I have stuck pretty close to my menu (other than the breakdown last night when I bought a salad and garlic bread from the local pizza joint). I did make sure I left my self some $$ so I could go out to eat as needed. I ended up buying 4 things more than I planned – two 2 liters of soda (for a colleagues baby shower), a large veggie tray (for a 4th party), and garbage bags (cuz I needed them- badly). I spent 52.00 total, which is pretty good for me. This food should last me about 2 weeks, if I ration. :-)

There will be no WI tomorrow at WW (since it is the 4th) but I will WI at home to see how I have been doing. I feel fatty this week. I so need to get back to the gym. BUT IT IS SO HOOOOOOOOOTTTTTT!

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for these 5 things this week:

1. Formally married friends who are downsizing – I was able to score (for free!!) 2 gorgeous nightstands and a huge beautiful chest of drawers!

2. Grandparents- without them, I would be waiting for the bus in 95 degree heat.

3. Formally married friends who are downsizing’s new boyfriend – he (and his friend) move the stuff to my 3rd floor home. Yes I have an elevator, but STILL! He so did not have to do that…

4. Costco- their fruit and veggie section is to die for. AND I got Chobani greek yogurt for 98 cents each!! :-)

5. Diet Dr Pepper Cherry- Where, oh where have you been all my life??? :-)

What are you thankful for?
