Again, long time no post – I gotta get my crap together

Hello all-

I AM ON VACATION FROM WORK!!!

FOR 2 WHOLE WEEKS!!!

I have not had my head in the game for the past few days and I have not been taking care of me. I have been working too hard and trying to get everything done so I could go on 2 weeks vacation without feeling like I was leaving my office in a lurch. Most of you might remember that I took over for my boss while she was on maternity leave for 4 months – well, now that she has been back almost a month, I am taking a much needed vacation form my office. I am going to stay home for most of it and get caught up on my blogging and my scrapbooking. I really need to get back in a good “routine” – while my boss was out I was blogging my food diary, bringing my lunch every day and I was walking all the time. Once she returned I was swamped again and went back to some old bad habits. While Wendie is working well for me, I am still not weighing in so I have no idea if it is “really” working. I have been eating alot more fiber in my diet which has pluses and minuses. , if ou know what I mean (TMI). My BFF’s sisters wedding is the weekend of the 28th and I am excited to see them both.

I can feel my cravings coming back, which is not cool. I have been craving salt and sugar the past few days and though pickles and yogurt (not together) have been helpful, they are not hitting the craving. One thing I have almost given up is Diet Coke. I have been actually wanting to drink water instead of soda and that is reall different for me. :-) :-) It is a great thing to give up/not want anymore.

I spent a lot of today catching up on blogs- man, you guys have be doing so well!! I read over 300 posts today and – wow!! I am so happy to hear about the new pregnancies, meeting WW goals, making lifetime and other NSV’s. I may not post, but I do read as much as I can. I ::heart:: Google Reader, it keeps me really up to date.

I am off to a party with some friends. I plan to drink 2 light beers (4) and have a snack when I get home  – yogurt and crackers (6) The bar I am going to does not have food so that is good so I won’t overeat.

  • TWO WEEKS?!?!? I am oh so jealous! Enjoy your time off. It really sounds like you deserve it!

    I, too, LOVE Google Reader! I love knowing what I’ve got to read. It’s absolutely wonderful!!

  • just a lurker here, with maybe a stupid question…..i drink diet coke every afteroon to kill the sugar craving, i just read that you have replaced diet coke with water. what’s wrong with diet coke? i’m sincerely curious :)

    Hi – Glad you delurked! :-)
    I don’t actually have a problem with Diet Coke, I am just trying my best to get rid of my dependance on it (and on caffeine!) :-) I have horrible migraine headaches and when I would “forget” to drink the soda I would have a withdrawl headache from the caffine. I still drink it but just rarely now. I do think diet soda is better than a 3 o’clock candy bar fix!! :-) Good luck on your journey!
